Mrs. Ethel Elaine Boan

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Elaine Tiller Boan, 52, who died peacefully in her home on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, will be held at 2 o'clock on Saturday, May 30, 2015 in Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tal Windham will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Born in Kentucky, she was a daughter of Hellen Teal Tiller and the late Monroe Jernigan Tiller. Elaine was truly the best mother. She dedicated her entire life to raising and providing for her son. Her entire world revolved around Quentin. Then alone came the love of her life, Jerrell. She would tell you that she loved him and that, yes, she was jealous! She made him walk the line, but Jerrell loved her back with all his heart and she made his life complete. Just when she thought her life couldn't get any better, her grandson Q.T. entered her world. Q.T. then became the apple of her eye instead of Quentin, and she would tell him so! She loved her only grandchild dearly, and lived everyday to spoil him all over again. She was the daughter that most mothers only dreamed of. The sister that was always there to lend a helping hand and loved each of her siblings deeply. She was the CNA who really cared about her patients and took extra care of each one. Children and youth, she loved and she cherished those moments she was with them. She was always there to lend that helping hand with the youth at church. To her caregiver, she was the sister-in-law that became a loving sister and they shared a special bond. Elaine was the hard-working mother who took no handouts from the government. Never asked for a lot in life: just love, rest, peace and quiet. She was a great mother, daughter, sister, wife and grandmother. She was a God gearing woman and now she is waiting for us all in Heaven! She is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Jerrell Boan of Hartsville, SC; son, Quentin Lee Tiller of Patrick, SC; mother, Hellen T. (J.D.) Perdue of Patrick, SC; brothers, Monroe (Judi) Tiller, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Earnie Lee (Malcolm) Starling of Society Hill, SC, Wanda (Mike) Smith of Lydia, SC, Michelle (Samuel) Tiller of Hamlet, NC; grandson, Quentin Lee "QT" Tiller, Jr. of Florence, SC.
