It is with deep sorrow that the Tyler family announces the death of Mr. Robert Anderson "Bobby" Tyler, Jr., 59. Mr. Tyler entered into rest on Monday, August 1, 2022. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of his life from 3:00 until 5:00 pm on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the residence: 936 Oak Avenue, Hartsville, SC. A private burial will be held at Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Tyler was born in Hartsville, SC, on July 3, 1963. He was the son of the late Robert Anderson Tyler, Sr., and the late Patricia Ann Gainey Tyler. Bobby was an exceptional man. He was a volunteer fireman and an EMT. He also worked at Talley Metals and Sonoco. He was always joking, and you never left a conversation with him without laughing. He was not fortunate enough to have children of his own, but in 1999, he became a part of Alice, Katie, and Tyler's life. He became a friend, a mentor, and a Poppy. He didn't show his love in the traditional sense of "I love you's" and Hugs and kisses goodnight, but he did let his love be known, whether it was fixing bicycle tires or checking your oil and car tires. Anytime you needed him, he would answer the phone and come to your aid no matter the time of day or night. Fast forward a few years, and he was soon blessed to become a Poppy to seven grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Every one of them carried a special place in his heart. When they came to visit, he always had a bag of "Scooby Snacks," more commonly known as Resse's Peanut Butter Cups, and was ready to hand out handfuls. Bobby will be forever loved and missed every day. Not just because he was Poppy to his seven beautiful grandchildren, but because he was a brother, a friend, a dad, and a mentor. Rest easy, Poppy. Goodbye for now 'till we meet again in heaven. He is survived by his son, Tyler Edwards of Indiana; daughters, Katheryn (Andrew) McPherson, Sr. of Hartsville, SC, Alice (Danny) Ingram of Hartsville, SC; nephews, Tyler Griggs, Andrew Stephens; sisters, Robin (Joel) Griggs; grandchildren, Tristen Ingram, Eva Mae McPherson, Andrew "Mac" McPherson, Rowan McPherson, Dani McKinley Ingram, Hazel-Marie McPherson, Wyatt McPherson; special friends, Anthony (Katie) McPherson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant twin daughters; sister, Cecilia Ann Tyler.
