It is with deep sorrow that the Rudisell family announces the death of Mrs. Noma Stogner Rudisell, 92. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. Noma Stogner Rudisell, daughter of the late Laurence B. Stogner and Marcella Johnson Stogner, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025. Born on September 11, 1932, in Hartsville, South Carolina, Mrs. Rudisell pursued her education with diligence, graduating from Hartsville High School and subsequently completing the Practical Nursing program offered therein. A devoted member of West Hartsville Baptist Church, Mrs. Rudisell served her congregation with unwavering dedication. Her contributions included instructing Sunday School, fulfilling various ministerial needs, and holding the esteemed position of Ordained Deacon. Her commitment to community extended beyond the church; for sixteen years, she was a supporter of the Darlington County Relay for Life and an active participant in the Darlington County Cancer Support Group. She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Langley Rudisell; daughter, Lisa Rudisell; great-grandson, Jason Rudisell; and sisters, Marsha Hawkins and Carter Hastings. She is survived by a son, Langley “Butch” (Kelley) Rudisell, II; grandchildren, Langley “Rusty” Rudisell, III of Hartsville, Taylor (Chad) Williams of Maine, Gerit (Ryan) Ridenhour of Hartsville; and great-grandchildren, Cameron Ridenhour, Raegan Rudisell, Liam Williams, Skylar Shaw, and Haven Shaw. Mrs. Rudisell is also survived by brother, L.B. (Carolyn) Stogner, III of Mississippi, as well as her nieces, Beth Anhalt, Joy Kelly, Fran (Jimmy) Carter of North Carolina, Roscia (Danny) Hardee of Surfside Beach, SC and Mary (Luke) Gray of Conway, SC. A memorial service to commemorate Mrs. Rudisell’s life will be held at 12 o'clock on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at West Hartsville Baptist Church. The Reverend Dr. Kevin Walters will officiate, with musical accompaniment by Sara C. Roberts, Music Director. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Darlington County Humane Society, 580 E. Washington Street, Hartsville, SC 29550. Serving as pallbearers, honoring Mrs. Rudisell’s memory, are Rusty Rudisell, Ryan Ridenhour, Lawrence Hope, Chat Hope, Lane Lewis, Mitch Olinger, Tom Cubbage, and Caleb Hastings. The Rudisell family would like to express great appreciation for Evelyn Dampier and Joan Cassidy, who selflessly devoted so much of their time to Mrs. Noma. The love and compassion you shared will never be forgotten, and our family cannot thank you enough.
