It is with deep sorrow that Mrs. Barbara Jones Clark and her family announce the death of her beloved husband, Mr. Ernest Dale Clark, 64. Mr. Clark entered into rest on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, surrounded by his family. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 3 o'clock on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Cedar Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeff Williams will officiate, with burial to follow in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. Memorials may be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Society Hill Church of God, 378 Pressley Avenue, Society Hill, SC 29593. Mr. Clark was born on Thursday, October 12, 1961, at Byerly Hospital in Hartsville, South Carolina. His birth was a joyous surprise for his family, as his parents did not know they were expecting twins until he arrived. He is the son of William Charles Clark and Doris Lee Freeman Clark. After graduating from McBee High School in 1980, he began his career at A. O. Smith in McBee, SC. He retired after 41 years. Throughout his career, he made life-long friendships and traveled the world. His life was one of love, kindness, and adventure. Dale was known for his generous spirit and active lifestyle. He loved being outdoors, especially with his father at Lakewood Camping Resort, fishing, hunting, traveling, gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jones Clark; sons, Robbie Clark (Rebecca) of Greenville, SC, Kevin Clark (Julie) of Conway, SC, Wade Horton of McBee, SC, and Blake Horton (Tristen) of McBee, SC; daughter-in-law, Susie Horton of Hartsville, SC; brother, Leon Clark (Teresa) of Hartsville, SC; sister, Gail Edwards (Will) of McBee, SC; grandchildren, Kerlton Horton, Nova Horton, Owen Clark, and Myles Clark; aunts, Brenda Freeman Winburn (Ernest), Dottie Clark Moore (Jimmy), and Jane Clark, all of Hartsville, SC; uncle, Terry Snipes of West Columbia, SC; nephew, Dustin Clark (Christy) of Hartsville, SC; nieces, Ashley Starling (Jon) of Hartsville, SC, Sharon Outlaw (David) of Bethune, SC, and Alyssa Clark (Bernie) of Hartsville, SC; special great-niece, Riley Flowers (Alicia and Glenn Mooneyham). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Clark; sister-in-law, Lori Dixon Clark; and niece, Tonya Clark.
