Ms. Cassidy Renee Reed

It is with deep sorrow that Elton John Reed and Lori Cassidy Reed announce the passing of their beloved daughter, Cassidy Renee Reed, 16. Cassidy entered into rest on Saturday, March 9, 2024. The memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock at Northside Memorial Baptist Church in Sumter on Friday, March 15th, 2024, with Rev. Billy Bishop and Rev. John O'Cain officiating. There will be a reception following the service for friends and family. Memorials can be made to Northside Memorial Baptist Church, Africa Mission Trip Fund, 1004 N Main St, Sumter, SC 29153. Cassidy was born in Summerville, South Carolina, on June 10, 2007. From her first breath, she loved making people smile and laugh. She grew up in church and had many church families. As a child, she would stand behind her PaPa or other music directors and help direct the choir. She would do her best to attend every Vacation Bible School she could throughout at least three counties. Her love of animals started at a very young age. She had a special bond with the family's dogs throughout her life. She loved being on the farm. As a child, she would read books to the goats and teach the chickens how to fly while she sang to them. As she got older, she enjoyed the farm animals her grandparents had in North Carolina as well. She enjoyed anything on the water. She loved to fish, paddleboard, kayak, ski, and ride the tube, and she made lots of memories cruising with her Dad and his family, as well as her Mom and Aunt Rebekah. She had a close bond with her grandparents. She was PaPa's blue-eyed angel, his sunshine, and two peas in a pod with her Grandma. She went on many trips with them to the beach, the mountains, concerts, revivals, and anything in between. She would help her PaPa with projects on the farm and learned to love flowers next to her Grandma. She entertained them for hours on end, whether it be with the piano, gymnastics, dance, music, shopping hauls, or lots of pictures. Cassidy enjoyed hanging out, talking, and video chats with her friends. She played volleyball and soccer. She had so much fun with her friends at church from when she was a toddler through her teen years. She made it her mission to make all the kids feel welcome and to put a smile on their faces. She loved to play practical jokes and if you got her dark humor, she loved you for it. It's hard to pick her favorite thing. It would have to be dancing or sleeping! Cassidy was preceded in death by her Grandma, O'Neal Cassidy, and her Aunt, Jennifer Cassidy. She is survived by her Dad, Elton John Reed; her Momma, Lori Cassidy Reed; her PaPa, Larry D. Cassidy; grandparents, Robert and Sandra Reed; Aunt Rebekah Cassidy; Aunt Stephanie (Scott) Ankney; Uncle Russell (Jen) Reed; step-sister, Ashley; step-brothers, Michael and Harry; many cousins and special friends; and her dog Odin.
