Mrs. Betty June Horton Hall

Betty June Horton Hall, age 77, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at McLeod Hospital in Florence, South Carolina. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 2 o'clock pm on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in The Chapel. The Rev. Buddy Amerson will officiate, with burial to follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and at other times at the home of her nephew, Michael Horton, 2872 Mecklenburg Road, Bethune, SC 29009. Born on October 18, 1948, in Bethune, South Carolina, Betty was the fifth child of the late T.L. "Bill" and Ethel Horton. Raised in Bethune, she attended Bethune Elementary and High School, laying down deep roots in the community she called home for so many years. In 1969, Betty began working at the Kendall Company in Bethune, where she dedicated nearly two decades of service. In 1987, she made the heartfelt decision to step away from work to devote herself entirely to her most cherished role: raising her three children. Betty was happiest when spending time with the things and places she loved most. She found immense joy in trips to Walt Disney World, taking in the peaceful beauty of the Western North Carolina mountains, and taking slow, relaxing drives through the countryside. She also never met a dog she didn’t love. Some of her favorites over the years were: Rebel, Peppy, Tiny, Bubba, and Peanut. Above all, her greatest pride and joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin Leo Hall (Dat Nall); her sisters, Joan Horton and Bonnie Jean Horton; and her brother, Junior Horton. Betty’s legacy lives on through her surviving family, including her three children: Jody Lee Hall, Jason (Tiara) Leo Hall, and Jeffery (Sarah) Allen Hall; her brother, Neil Horton; her sister, Louise Horton; and her 5 grandchildren, along with extended family and dear friends. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Michael Horton, Shane Fountain, Glen Horton, Daryl Goff, Bill McMillan, and Robert Baird.
