Funeral services for Windy A. Starling, 52, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 15th 2022 in the Chapel of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Dobby Thomas, The Rev. Joann Wilson, and The Rev. Jeff Williams will officiate with burial to follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Windy, daughter of Annie Gainey Starling Harrison and the late Wiley G. "Gill" Starling passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11th 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was a very special daughter, niece, and cousin. She worked for Georgia Pacific for 17 years and she considered her coworkers family. Her hobbies included mowing grass, working in the flowers (roses were her specialty), going to the beach and mountains, and taking cruises. She loved her animals, Lady, Bella, and G.P. She was also a very good cook. Surviving are her mother, Annie Gainey Starling Harrison; brothers, Rodney Starling, Chad Starling; sisters of the heart, Gwen Starling, Dawn Player, Angie Preuhs, Nicole Johnson, Cindy Hassell; second parents of the heart, Marie and John Welch; aunts who were like a mother, Irene Player and Frances Rivers; 2 nieces; Kylie Bonds, Cheyenne Hassell; 7 nephews, Adam Starling, Zach Starling, Hart Starling, Kohen Starling, Tyson Starling, John Luca Hassell, Doug Hassell. In addition to her grandparents, she was preceded in death by her father, Wiley "Gill" Starling; brother, Wiley Paul Starling, stepfather, Daniel Harrison.
