William E. "Bill" Bedenbaugh, 84, passed peacefully in his home on Sunday, May 15,2022 in Batavia, IL Born on January 13,1938 in Hartsville, South Carolina the oldest son of William T. and Albertine Bedenbaugh. He was a graduate of Hartsville High School and he attended the University of South Carolina. Bill was a 39 year employee with Sonoco Tube & Core and worked in Hartsville, Robesonia, and Chicago. Bill knew finishing operations extremely well and worked as a Production Supervisor and Plant Manager before becoming a Spiral Finishing Trainer in the later part of his career. Bill helped many of our T&C Finishing operations and plants in the US throughout his career and was well respected for his knowledge, willingness, and desire to make plants better. Growing up Bill was involved in High School sports and that love of sports carried on throughout his life spending many enjoyable hours watching college football and other sports. He loved to read and keeping up with all his sons and their forever growing families. He is survived by his six sons: Mark (Lisa) Bedenbaugh, Brian (Sharon) Bedenbaugh, Scott (Natalie) Bedenbaugh, all of Hartsville, South Carolina, Bill (Maryde) Bedenbaugh of Norman, Oklahoma, Kenny (Jamie) Bedenbaugh of St. Charles, Illinois, and Jason Bedenbaugh of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Surviving siblings; his sister Margaret B Gaido of Mocksville, North Carolina. Bill was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Barnes Bedenbaugh; his parents; 2 brothers and sister in laws, Tommy (Janice) Bedenbaugh and Bobby (Margaret Ann) Bedenbaugh, and grandson, Logan Bedenbaugh. A Celebration of Life will be held in Hartsville, South Carolina in July with friends and family.
