Mrs. Senie Joy Buck Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

It is with great sadness that Ronnie and Joyce Ann announce that their beloved mom, Senie Joy Buck, 92, departed this life on Saturday, April 2, 2022, following a short time of declining health. She was better known as "Joy" or "Granny Joy" to all who knew her. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at South Hartsville Baptist Church. The Rev. Trey Watkins, The Rev. Dave Worthington, and Dakota Tedder will officiate with burial to follow in Darlington Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home and Crematory are caring for the family. Born in Darlington, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ike and Sarah Staton Iseman. She moved to Hartsville after she married her one love, Bill Buck. She worked for Hartville Manufacturing Company for 21 years before joining her husband at the family business, Hartsville Radiator Shop. After his death in 1985, she continued to serve the public at the same location, Hartsville Radiator & Tire, with her son until her retirement in 1999 at age 70. At that time she enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She also discovered her love for books and became an avid reader, especially Amish life. She was always seen with a book in hand or nearby until her recent decline in vision. She read well over one thousand books. Throughout her life, Joy always carried a deep affection for horses. She loved all breeds, but The Clydesdale was her favorite. As a teenager she developed this love of horses by spending time on the farm with her grandparents whom she loved dearly. Joy had a special place in her heart for God, each member of her family, and her church family. She had a great sense of humor and lived up to the name that her dad gave her, “Joy.” She always wanted everyone to be happy and did her best to spread “Joy“ whenever she was present. This includes her final years as a resident at Morrell Nursing Center. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the caregivers and all of the special staff at Morrell in Hartsville for the support, concern, kindness, and gentle care given to their precious mom and the family during her stay, especially The Gold Wing. This also includes Dr. Raymond M. Chapman and her special doctor of many years, Dr. John Ropp, III. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Joyce Ann Lipe (Gary); son, Ronnie Buck; grandchildren, Karon Muir (Mike), Rhonda Buck, Roxanne Buck, Ken Edwards, Bobby R. Edwards; great-grandchildren, Brian Muir (Casey), Dakota Tedder, Brooklynn Tedder, Chris Edwards, Kena Lynn Edwards, Elijah Edwards, Katelynn Edwards, Levi Edwards, Charles Daniel Edwards, Kaileigh Edwards, Kullen Edwards; to be born in May – her namesake, Veronica Ann Joy McDaniel; special friends that she included as family; Randy, Donna and Rachel Stokes. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Iseman and Ike Iseman, Jr. Memorials may be made in her honor to South Hartsville Baptist Church, 205 E. BoBo Newsom Hwy., Hartsville, SC 29550.
