Tributes

A graveside service for Mr. Ronnie Dewayne James, Sr., 65, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, in the Piney Plains Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Steve Winburn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home and Crematory are caring for the family. Mr. James entered into rest on Friday, July 22, 2022. Born in Hartsville, SC, he was a son of the late Elbert and Sallie Coker O'Neal James. Ronnie thoroughly enjoyed music and playing his guitars. He was also talented in repairing guitars and was an excellent handyman. Surviving are his sons, Jeremy James (Sue Ann) of Hartsville, SC, Ron James (Kathleen) of Hartsville, SC, daughter, Amanda James Hodge (Randy) of Lamar, SC;, Michael James of Hartsville, SC; brothers, W. Coker James, Ricky A. James; sisters, Rosa Lee Fales, Francis Wilks, Helen Mathis, Teresa Shaw (James); 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Alicia James; grandson, Joshua James; brothers, Charles James, Carson James; sisters, Voncille James, Bennie Lou Teal, Shirley Hodges.
