Mrs. Peggy Ann Blackwell

February 17, 1951 - January 4, 2022

A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Peggy Ann Blackwell, 70, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in the Chapel of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home and Crematory with The Rev. Brad Griese officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at 1547 Manchester Drive Hartsville, SC 29550. Mrs. Blackwell entered into rest on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Darlington County, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Edward Barfield and the late Nira Morrison Barfield. She loved her husband, George, very much, as well as her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them and she will be missed dearly. The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of Crescent Hospice, especially, Christie Russell and Montina Bridges. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, George Blackwell; children, Nira Gainey (James "Huey"), Lee Barfield (Melisa), Vicky Moore (Tim); grandchildren, Brooke Walters, Bailee Gainey, Dylan Barfield (Haylee), Britni Urizar (Josh), Taylor Moore, Carlee Moore, Riley Bryant, Haley Bryant, Rainey White; great-grandchildren, Carter Walters, Avery Walters, Hayden Carter, Larken Barfield; sister, Mickey Spivey (Wes); sister-in-law, Melissa Barfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kayden Walters; and a brother, Murray Barfield.
