It is with deep sorrow that Mr. Robert W. "Bob" Lee announces the death of his beloved wife, Minnie Lee Moore Lee, 87, of Hartsville, SC. Mrs. Lee entered into rest on Sunday, April 10, 2022. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A graveside committal service to honor her life will be held at 12 o'clock on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Westview Memorial Park Cemetery in the Mausoleum. The Rev. Jim Murray will officiate, and The SC Nurses Honor Guard will perform Nightingale Honors. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private family service will be held prior to the graveside service. Memorials may be made in her honor to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Mrs. Lee was born June 28, 1934, in Lee County, SC, to the late John Laurice "Bill" Moore and Bonita Kelly Moore. She was a 1951 graduate of Central High School. While at Central, she met Robert W. "Bob" Lee, and they were married on February 10, 1952. She graduated from Tuomey Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. At some point in the late 70s, Mom went back to school. She got a BSN and MSN at the University of South Carolina and an MA in Education at Francis Marion College. The family moved to Hartsville in the summer of 1961. In 1964, Minnie went to work at Byerly Hospital. She moved to the new facility at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in May 1999 when it opened. She worked as a nurse primarily in Labor and Delivery until her retirement in 2009. She was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching her primary class and playing the organ. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Bob Lee of Hartsville, SC; daughters, Virginia Lee of Atlanta, GA, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Joel) Howle of Hartsville, SC; son, Robert "Chip" Lee of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Bethany Virginia (Charlie) James, Robert Wroten "Robby" Lee, Bryan Irby Lee, Natalee Jacquelyn "Lee" Howle (Matt) Lane, Carolyn Elizabeth "Cari" (Michael) Outlaw; great-grandchildren, Irby Ann James, Tony Charles James; Addison Elizabeth Lane, Connor Patrick Lane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Moore; sister, Billie Humphries; nephew, Kirven Humphries; daughter-in-law, Kathy Irby Lee.
