It is with deep sorrow that the Hall family announces the death of their beloved mother, Mary Alice Segars Hall, 84. Mrs. Hall, the widow of Ben Tillman Hall, entered into rest on Sunday, July 3, 2022. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A graveside funeral service to honor her life will be held at 2 o'clock on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Center Point Cemetery, formerly the Old Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Rev. Hazel Mixon will officiate and the family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Hall was born in Hartsville, SC. She was the daughter of the late James Ray Segars and Nettie Hane Blackwell Segars. She loved being a mother to her five children, and she enjoyed sewing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren every chance she got. She also loved her husband Tillman, and she loved her dogs, but most of all, she loved God. She is survived by her loving sons, Danny Gilbert, Steve Gilbert, and Bernie Gilbert; daughter, Dianne Causey; grandchildren, Amy Gilbert, April Gilbert, Ashya Gilbert, Daniel Gilbert, Donald Gilbert, Chrissy Britt; great-grandchildren, Michela Shirley, Jaylen Black, Aaliyah Stuckey, Liam Hicks; great-great-grandchild, Miylieke Samuel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Tillman Hall; son, Donald Gilbert; brother, Billy Segars; sisters, Carolyn Steen, Lucille Hall, Bobbie Reynolds, Shirley Davis, and Ermine Tyner.
