    Mrs. Marilyn Gandy Fields

It is with deep sorrow that Mrs. Lynn Shillinglaw announces the death of her beloved mother, Mrs. Marilyn Gandy Fields, 80. Mrs. Fields, the widow of Reginald Berry Fields, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2022. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 2 o'clock on Friday, February 25, 2022, in The Chapel of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Our family welcomes all that knew and loved her to celebrate her life. The Rev. Danny Holley will officiate and the family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private family burial will be held following the visitation, where both her closest friends and family are welcome to share their fondest memory of love and laughter as continue to celebrate her life. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. Marilyn simply loved life! She enjoyed cooking, music, reading her bible, word search puzzles, and taking care of her family. She enjoyed a good laugh over anything, in return, her laugh brought joy to any situation. She is remembered as selfless, authentic and without a doubt could change the dynamic of a room with her smile. She had a quiet strength that was un-waivered. She never complained and always saw a silver lining in life every day. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (MeMe). Marilyn was ever calm and serene in her Baptist faith. She served her church as treasurer, choir member, and Sunday school teacher. She proudly served her community as a McBee Town Council member. She worked as an administrative assistant for Vesch Lock, IMC, and the City of Hartsville, SC. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and ALL who knew her. Surviving are her loving daughter, Lynn (Ryan) Shillinglaw of Darlington, SC; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Shillinglaw of Darlington, SC; brothers, Robert A. Gandy Sr., Carroll E. Gandy. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Gandy Byrd, Janice Gandy, and Frances Gandy.
