    Mrs. Lorece Horne Carnahan

    October 12, 1930 - May 17, 2020

    Mrs. Lorece Horne Carnahan died peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2020. Born in Hartsville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Horne and Alma Kennington Horne. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Lorece was retired from Sara Lee and was an avid Clemson football fan. She loved to read and passed on that love to her children. Surviving are her son, Gilliam DeBruhl (Sandra J.), daughter, Cheryl Shepherd; grandchildren, Raegan DeBruhl, Hanna DeBruhl, Kelly Shepherd-Allen (Paul); great-grandchildren, Bailey Marshall, Hardy Smothers, Pressley Smothers, Destin Shepherd, Learia Shepherd; great-great-grandchildren, Madisyn Shepherd, Kellan Shepherd; sisters, Dorothy McElveen, Patricia Schreckenghost (Floyd), Eleanor Davidson. She was preceded in death by her son, Ben DeBruhl; daughter, Teresa DeBruhl; sisters, Mary Greiner, Elizabeth Morrell, Maggie Moody; brothers, J. W. Horne, Bob Horne, George Horne; son-in-law, Dennis Shepherd. Memorials may be made to the Hartsville Memorial Library, 147 W. College Ave., Hartsville, SC 29550.
