It is with deep sadness that the Johnson family announces the death of their beloved mother, Mrs. Lila Barefoot Johnson, 76. Mrs. Johnson, the widow of Mr. Francis Ike "Snookie" Johnson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Westview Memorial Park Cemetery, with The Rev. Michael Gunter officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Friends are invited to pay their respects and sign the register on Friday afternoon at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Lila enjoyed baseball, Crocheting, and WWE Wrestling. She was a member of the Church of God of Reformation. She worked for many years at Hartsville Manufacturing, MarMac, Winn Dixie, and the Raceway Grill. She also ran the concession stand at the Hartsville Northern League Baseball Field for many years, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving sons, Christopher L. Johnson (Jan) of Lamar, SC, Victor I. Johnson (Tonya) of Hartsville, SC; sisters, LaFaye Barefoot Gainey of Hartsville, SC, Martha Barefoot Morris (Mike) of Florence, SC, Linda Barefoot Johnson (Steve) of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer Rauf (Ed), Jessica James (Jay), Eric Gross (Brooke), Dawn Durante, Calvin Brumley (Haley), Cody Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Baylee Johnson; 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jean Barefoot Crowley; brother-in-law, Ray Gainey. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Directors are caring for the family.
