    Mr. Lewis Harold Beasley

    August 19, 1953 - February 27, 2022

It is with deep sorrow that Mrs. Ruby Ilene Gardner Beasley announces the death of her beloved husband, Lewis Harold Beasley. Mr. Beasley passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2022. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 3 o'clock on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Union United Methodist Church. The Rev. Luke Morrison will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. Born in Darlington County, SC, he was the son of the late Bobby H. Beasley and Mary Elizabeth McKenzie Beasley. He was the owner and operator of Beasley Transport for 35 years alongside his wife, Ilene. They just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on February 4, 2022. He raced for many years at the Darlington Speedway and the Florence Motor Speedway where he won many titles in the Super Stock Division. He spent many summers driving his many boats on the Santee water making many wonderful memories with his family. The mountains were his favorite to travel, and his most recent visit was this past August with Calvin and Wanda, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law. He had his Private Pilot Certificate through the Federal Aviation Administration and enjoyed flying his airplane. He enjoyed golfing in his spare time with his many golfing buddies. The greatest loves of all were his two granddaughters, Beth and Lily. He enjoyed watching them play their favorite sport and traveling to watch them play -- They were truly the apple of his eye. The girls were his world, and Pa was their world also. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ilene Gardner Beasley; son, Timmy (Tracy Byrd) Beasley; sister, Robin Beasley (Billy) Russell; grandchildren, Beth Beasley, Lily Beasley.
