It is with deep sorrow that Mrs. Cathy Stroup announces the death of her son, Mr. James Robert "Robbie" Jones, 36. Mr. Jones entered into rest on Sunday, June 19, 2022. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 3 o'clock on Friday, June 24, 2022, in The Chapel of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home, with The Rev. Randy Gulledge officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 2320 Faith Road, Hartsville, SC 29550. Born in Hartsville, SC, he was a son of Cathy O'Bannon Stroup and James Allen "Buddy" Jones. He graduated from Hartsville High School and enjoyed playing baseball. He also loved to fish. Robbie went to work at Sonic when he was only 16 and worked there for many years. was a hard worker and could adapt to any work environment. His last place of employment was 151 Auction and Fleur De Lis. He had a kind heart and was a friend to all who knew him. He has a big infectious smile and a loud boyish giggle. He had a happy nature, was full of life, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved all his family. He is survived by his loving mother, Cathy O'Bannon Stroup; father, James Allen "Buddy" Jones; brother, William "Allen" Jones; nephew, Joseph Jones; grandmother, Juanita Jones; aunts and uncles, Billy and Chris O'Bannon, Sherry and Sam Durante, Debra Lee, Robin and Jesse Atkinson, Woody and Paulette Jones; many great-aunts and great-uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Vivian O'Bannon.
