Funeral services for Mr. Fred Dixon, Jr., 86, who entered into rest on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, will be held at 1 o'clock on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. The Rev. Jackie Hinson and the Rev. Loy Roper will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Friday at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Directors are caring for the family. Mr. Dixon was born in Chesterfield County, SC. He was the son of the late Fred Dixon, Sr. and Viney Jones Dixon and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a dedicated member of New Holland Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA, and retired from Miliken after 52 years of dedicated service. Fred enjoyed trips to the beach and spending time with his family and friends. He never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He is survived by his son, Fred (Jada) Dixon III; daughter, Sharon Dixon (Danny) Cannon; sister, Shelby Martin Syrop; grandchildren, Fred Zackary (Kayla) Dixon IV, Chris (Dakotah) Cannon, Jeremy (Cassie) Dixon, Stephanie Cannon; granddaughter-in-law, Stephanie Dixon; great-grandchildren, Caden Dixon, Danny Rodriguez-Cannon, Camden Dixon, Skylar Cannon, Billie Kay Cannon, Colt Dixon, and Nolan Dixon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kay King Dixon; brother, J. L. Dixon; sister, Lola Mae Byrd; grandson, Blane Dixon.
