Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Freeman Mixon, 82, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Heber Watson will officiate with burial to follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund, c/o Heber Watson, 808 Prestwood Drive, Hartsville, SC 29550 or to the Hartsville Soup Kitchen, 145 E. College Ave., Hartsville, SC 29550. Mrs. Mixon entered into rest on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Born in Chesterfield County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Laron and Geneva Hall Freeman. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She retired from MSD (formerly Nitronics) of Darlington after over 30 years of service. She was a loyal wife and loving mother. Frances loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely and could often be found at their sporting or dancing events. She enjoyed participating in the Freeman family reunions which have been held for over 60 years. She also enjoyed going to the beach and shopping at the Flea Markets. She loved genealogy and family history. She had a heart of compassion and was always willing to help those in need which led her to be active in the Hartsville Soup Kitchen. She will be missed by her family and all those who knew her. Surviving are her husband, Edward Mixon; children, Regina (Danny) McLendon, Lisa (Pete) Tingen, Windell (Tammy) Brown; grandchildren, Daniel McLendon, Ross (Brooke) McLendon, Emily McLendon, Jent Jones (fiancé- Caroline Cannarella), Ashley (Michael) Camak, Fallon (Marcel) Smith, Chelsie (Josh) Smith; great-grandchildren, Grant McLendon, Wyatt McLendon, Porter Hunnicutt, Woods Camak, Aliyah Smith, Chanler Smith, Tyson Smith, Brody Smith; Ed's children, Earl Welch, Randy (Amy) Mixon, Jo (Fred) Counts, Kim (Tommy) Hogge; Ed's grandchildren, Christopher (Cara) Welch, Alicia (Nathan) Roubicek, Hillary (Joseph) Davidson, Brittany (Andy) Jackson, Ross (Ashley) Johnson, Mathew (Martha) Hogge, Billy (Allie) Hogge; Ed's great-grandchildren, Madelyn Welch Charlotte Welch, Stella Roubicek, Joslyn Roubicek, Lila Roubicek, Savannah Davidson, Aubree Davidson, Hunter Brunson, Reese Jackson, Lennon Johnson, Carter Johnson, Winters Hogge, Madeline Hogge, Piper Hogge; brothers, Lloyd Freeman, Larry Freeman, Craig Freeman, sisters, Tena St.Pierre Selma McLendon, Darlene Wallace. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jace Jones, sister, Yvonne Barefoot; brother, George W. Freeman. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Directors are caring for the family.
