It is with deep sorrow that Mrs. Patricia Yengel Reimold announces the death of her beloved husband, Douglas Kit Reimold, 71. Mr. Reimold entered into rest on Sunday, July 31, 2022. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A graveside funeral service to honor his life will be held at 11 o'clock on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in Magnolia Cemetery, 100 S. Cedar Lane, Hartsville, SC. Mrs. Annette Reynolds, Chairperson for the Florence Baháʼí Spiritual Assembly, will conduct the service with the assistance of others. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Reimold Residence. In lieu of flowers, those of the Baháʼí Faith may make a donation in his honor to the National Baháʼí Fund, other friends may make a donation in his honor to the charity of one's choosing. Doug was born on May 6, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan. He was the youngest of four children and graduated from Albion College in Albion, Michigan, with a BA in Geology. He worked for Johns Manville in Montana after graduation and later moved to Colorado, where he worked at several different jobs, including as a Ground Water Geologist for the State of Colorado. After moving to South Carolina, he worked as a land surveyor and was the Director of Planning for Darlington County for 15 years. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with family and friends. His greatest love was his wife, his children, and the Baháʼí Faith. He was a wonderful person, father, and husband. Doug is survived by his loving wife, Patty Reimold; son, Christopher Reimold; daughter, Monica (Stevie) Sellers; brother, Steve Reimold; sister, Lee Reimold; grandchildren, Malachi Robinson, Paris Robinson Kendrick Sellers, Christian Sellers; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. The Reimold family would like to thank all of our friends and family who have provided so much spiritual and physical support for Doug and our family, as well as Regency Hospice.
