Christian was a student at Hartsville Middle School. He had a very infectious smile, laugh, and a personality that was much larger than he was. Christian was also an avid fan of music and electronics and adored his “old” iPad and his “brand new” iPad. He loved news jingles and his Garage Band where he was able to mix music snippets into silly jingles of his own. He was a huge Gamecock fan that was born to a staunch Seminole mama and a Gamecock dad, so we became the family of Cocky-Noles. He also had a very inquisitive mind - always wanting to know "what comes after." He loved the weather along with Ed Pietrowski and would say, "Yep! That's what Ed said!" Christian made an impact on everyone he ever met. After a rough first year at HMS, God made a way for his wonderful assistant, Charles Roberts, to spring him from the crazy chaos facing him daily. Between Charles and his amazing teacher, Lara Mathis, they gave him the space, comfort, and security that allowed him to flourish and enjoy school. Buddy, we know you are finally able to do the physical things that were unattainable to you on this earth. So, run, Baby, RUN and swing that bat! Hit it out of the park for everyone, and... "Just In Case You Ever Wonder" "I'll Love You Forever"... He is survived by his loving parents, Thomas "Craig" Mattox and Shaun Youngblood Mattox of Hartsville, SC; aunts and uncles, Pam (Jack) Keller of Myrtle Beach, SC, Karen (Charles) Alsobrook of Tallahassee, FL, David (Renee) Mattox of Gilbert, SC; Many cousins that loved him dearly; his longtime caregiver, Shannon Byrd of Hartsville, SC. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Mary Frances Mattox; maternal grandparents, Thomas M. and Ann M. Young Youngblood; aunts, Telia A. Youngblood, and Beth Babb. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Roberts, Albert Wingfield, Philip Tiller, David Mattox, Rob Paszkiewicz, Ashley Taylor, Gradyn Baisch, Logan Frazier, David Keller, Keanen Taylor, John Camden Baisch.
