    Bishop Bobby L. Steen

    October 25, 1950 - October 31, 2020

    Bishop Bobby L. Steen, 70, husband of Rhounette Steen, died Saturday, October 31, 2020, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center. Bishop Steen was born on October 25, 1950, in Darlington County, son of the late Sam R. Steen and Marie Winburn Steen. He Pastored for 48 years within the Church of God of Prophecy Conference and was the current pastor of the Olanta Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are his wife, Rhounette Blakeley Steen of Lake City; daughters, Shonda (Jamie) McElveen of Cades and Tiffany Evans of Hartsville; grandchildren, Kaleigh McElveen, Nathan McElveen, Reagan Evans, and Cameron Evans; step-children, Steve (Laura) Droze and Tammy Stanton, both of Charleston; step-grandchildren, Cristina (Stephen) Windham, Stephanie (Lee) Rivers and Christopher Stanton; step-great-grandchildren, Beckam Windham, Caleb Rivers, Kylie Rivers, and Joshua Rivers; siblings, Shirley Huggins, Margie (Ronnie) Brown, Kenny Steen and Billy Steen, all of Hartsville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Bishop Steen was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Johnson Steen. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton. The services will be live-streamed at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, on the Carolina Funeral Home Website. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Westview Memorial Park, Hartsville. Due to COVID-19, please use good judgment and practice social distancing during visitation and services. Memorials may be made to Olanta Church of God of Prophecy, PO Box 569, Olanta, SC 29114.
