    Mrs. Argent Stacey Barfield Brown

    October 19, 1966 - March 30, 2022

Argent Stacey Barfield Brown, age 55, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, after a lifelong battle with diabetes. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, 110 Pinchum Sly Road, Bishopville, SC, 29010. Stacey’s first cousin, The Reverend Bizand Gainey, of Vero Beach, Florida, will officiate the service. Stacey was born October 19, 1966, in Hartsville, SC. She is survived by her son, Brandon Brown, of Spartanburg, SC, and her parents Bobby Steve Barfield of Kelleytown, SC, and Argent Smith Jacobs of Spartanburg, SC. Stacey’s siblings include Bobby Barfield of Stuart, FL; Scott Barfield (Leslie) of Asheville, NC; Brantley Barfield (Tonya) of Charlotte, NC, and step-siblings: Heather Burelson Garner of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC, Tiffany Burelson Carroll of Bolivia, NC, Lee Jacobs Dailey (G.W.), of Clinton, SC, and Thomas Jacobs of Irmo, SC. She was predeceased in death by her loving stepfather, John Dillard Jacobs. Stacey attended the First Church of God in Hartsville as a child and enjoyed time on Lake Robinson as a teen. She graduated from Hartsville High School and was a Columbia College graduate in the field of social services. She was affectionately referred to as “Momma Too” by many of her son’s friends for her willingness to stand in for any parent who happen to not be on the scene when help was needed. Her willingness to go the extra mile for those she loved is a hallmark of her life. She worked for the South Carolina Department of Social Services, where her love for people was well-suited. Stacey had a heart for animals and was very fond of her cat, Socks. A memorial donation may be made in her honor to Foster Paws Rescue, PO Box 45, Lyman, SC 29365, or on their website, www.fosterpaws.org. Living Waters Funeral Home of Lyman, SC, and Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home of Hartsville, SC are assisting the family.
