Mr. Woody Aaron Kelly

It is with deep sorrow that Mrs. Jessica Amerson Kelly and her family announce the death of her beloved husband, Mr. Woody Aaron Kelly, 40. Mr. Kelly entered into rest on Thursday, April 25, 2024. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 5 o'clock on Friday, May 3, 2024, in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, with The Rev. John Helms and The Rev. Dennis Outlaw officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and at other times at the home of Mrs. Pam Amerson, 17593 Highway 102, Patrick, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Spring Branch Baptist Church, 5106 Middendorf Road, Hartsville, SC 29550. Mr. Kelly was born on October 22, 1983, in Hartsville, SC. He was the son of Woody Kelly, Jr. and Frances Regina Geiger Kelly. Woody was the most selfless, humble man you would ever meet. He loved to do anything outdoors, from gardening, cutting trees, and working on anything with a motor, as long as it wasn't a Ford. His love for his family was never once doubted, and neither was his love for the Lord. Woody also enjoyed a good steak any chance he got. He was a Deacon at Spring Branch Baptist Church, where he loved each and every person. The beach was his favorite place, especially at "IR House," where he vacationed with his family every chance he got. A very close second, if not equal, favorite, was fishing with his boys. Every year since he was a kid, he looked forward to going to Denton, NC, for the Southeast Old Threshers Reunion. Woody, Uncle Woody, and Daddy Woody will be missed by so many, especially by all of his little tractor riders. He is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Amerson Kelly of Patrick, SC; sons, Aaron Dalton Kelly and Jesse Lawson Kelly, both of Patrick, SC; sisters, Regina Stewart, April K. McKenzie (Johnny), Autumn K. Griggs (Grady); brother, Josey A. Kelly (Sandy); nephews, Travis Stewart (Michaela), Johnathan McKenzie (Kelsey), Jacob Griggs, Levi Griggs, Charlie Griggs, Weston Johnson; nieces, Regina C. Stewart, Madelyn Freeman (Max), Mary F. McKenzie, Natalie Stewart, Brynlee Johnson; aunt, Dora Cottingham; uncle, June Geiger (Juanita); mother-in-law, Pam Amerson; father-in-law, Tony Amerson (Hilary); brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brad and Kelsey Johnson; paternal grandparents, Rev. Buddy and Betty Amerson; maternal grandparents, Heyward and Frances Walters; a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins left to cherish his memory. He is also survived by his very special friends, Anthony, David, Clint, Ben, and Diane. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his favorite sister, Shelli N. Kelly; paternal grandparents, Woodrow and Rosa Mae Kelly; maternal grandparents, Richard and Vernice Geiger. Serving as pallbearers will be Josey Kelly, Tony Amerson, Anthony Brigman, Brad Johnson, David Outlaw, and Clint Mays.
