Mr. Thomas Vick Vause

Thomas Vick Vause, born on December 1,1948, passed away suddenly on Tuesday July 7, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we celebrate a life filled with love, devotion, and unwavering dedication to the people who meant the most to him. Born in Timmonsville, South Carolina, Vick spent his teenage years in New York, where fate brought him the love of his life, Susan Kelly-Vause. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and commitment. For 44 wonderful years, Susan was not only his wife but also his soulmate and best friend. Together they raised a family that became Vick's greatest pride and joy. After many years in New York, Vick and Susan returned to South Carolina, making McBee their home for the past 30 years. There, they enjoyed a life surrounded by family, friends, and friends that became family. Vick was a devoted husband, a loving father, brother and a proud grandfather who cherished his family; extended family; and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He was blessed with three children: Bonnie (Mike) Rohner, Jason (Tammy) Vause, and Christine Kelly, who preceded him in death. Though the loss of Christine left an immeasurable hole in his heart, his love for her never faded, and he carried her memory with him every day. Vick believed that love is what makes people family and had many adopted family members especially his daughter-in-love Toni (Kris) Berry. Vick was the oldest child of his parents Thomas Vause and Lena Vause who preceded him in death and are survived by Madeline Howell, Mary Pacheco, Paul (Ginny) Vause, and Susan E. Vause. As a grandfather, Vick found endless joy in his grandchildren: Griffin, Zoe, Shaylee, Layten, Atom, Carlie, Gianna, Kota, Zach, Anthony, Maria, Ella, Lily, Hannah, Odyssie, Cierra, Tristan, Tommy, and Kaylee. He cherished playing with his grandbabies and treasured the “chili pot picture” tradition. His legacy will continue to live on through them and through the values he instilled in his family. Those who knew Vick will remember his humor, creativity, and willingness to help anyone in need. He believed in the value of hard work, keeping his word, and putting family above all else. His greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
