It is with deep sorrow that Mrs. Georgia Robinson announces the death of her beloved husband, Mr. Rudy Robinson, 67. Mr. Robinson entered into rest on Thursday, December 21, 2023. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 2 o'clock pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at New Market United Methodist Church. The Rev. Corinthia Mack and The Rev. Richard Toy will officiate with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Robinson was born on December 15, 1956, in Monroe, NC. He was the son of the late Helen Belk Robinson and the late Homer Raymond Robinson. He worked for Alvac Industries (Monroe & Richburg, NC) and was the former owner of Hartsville Steel for over 16 years until his retirement in 2020. Rudy was a dedicated and devoted Christian who was a member of New Market United Methodist Church where he was a member of the board of trustees and the choir that he loved singing with. He was a former member of the church's PPRC nomination committee. He enjoyed being active in his church and community. He loved to spend every minute with his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Rylee. They brought so much love and joy to him. He always cherished his family and friends and never met a stranger as he was never lost for words. He loved life and always had a smile on his face. He loved fishing with his buddies at Kure Beach, NC as it was a yearly ritual in October for 26 years. Rudy also loved his motor trike rides in the country with his neighbor. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Georgia Robinson of Hartsville, SC; daughter, Brianna Burch Truett (James) of Hartsville, SC; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Rylee Truett of Hartsville, SC; brother, Dennis Robinson (Debbie) of Monroe, NC; brother-in-law, Rick Moser of Waxhaw, NC; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Iris Robinson Moser of Waxhaw, NC. Memorials may be made in his honor to New Market United Methodist Church, 1921 West Old Camden Road, Hartsville, SC 29550 or to the Darlington County Humane Society, PO Box 1655, Hartsville, SC 29551.
