Mr. Robert Wroten Lee Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that the Lee family announces the death of Mr. Robert "Bob" Wroten Lee, 91. Bob entered into rest on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He was born in Red Hill, SC, a son of the late Robert Wroten Lee Sr. and Essie Smith Lee. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in the Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Phillips will officiate, and entombment will follow in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the residence. Bob graduated from Central High School in 1951. He joined the Air Force and served from October 10, 1951, through October 10, 1955. He married Minnie Moore on February 12, 1952, and shipped out to serve 16 months in Japan. Bob and Minnie moved to Rembert, SC, in a house across from Bob's parents. Minnie worked in labor and delivery at Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, and Bob worked at Dupont in Camden. The family moved to Larkfied Circle in Hartsville in 1961 when Bob got a job with Carolina Power & Light. Bob got an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Florence-Darlington Tech. He retired from Carolina Power & Light in 1990 and started Atlantic Industrial Products. Mr. Lee faithfully served his church for over 50 years in various positions. Bob is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Virginia Lee of Tucker, GA, Betsy Howle (Joel) of Hartsville, SC; son, Robert W. "Chip"_ Lee III of Hartsville, SC; granddaughters, Bethany James (Charlie) of York, SC, Natalee Lane (Matt) of Suffolk, VA, Cari Outlaw (Michael) of Cork, Ireland; grandsons, Robert W. "Robby" Lee IV of Hartsville, SC, Bryan Irby Lee of Hartsville, SC; great-grandchildren, Irby Ann James of York, SC, Addison Elizabeth Lane of Suffolk, VA, Tony Charles James Jr. of York, SC; Connor Patrick Lane of Suffolk, VA.; niece, Bonnie Lynne Sauls of Lexington, SC; nephews, John L. Moore of Ellore, SC, Robin Barkley of Sumter, SC, Jonathan LeBleu of Sumter, SC. Bob is predeceased by his wife, Minnie Moore Lee; sisters, Ann Lee Barkley, and Alice Lee LeBleu; daughter-in-law, Kathy Irby Lee.
