With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Robert Charles "Bob" Anderson II announces his passing on November 11, 2025, at the age of 77. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A celebration of his life will be held at 3 o'clock on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Wesley United Methodist Church, with The Rev. Fred McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Rubicon of Darlington County, 510 E. Carolina Avenue, Hartsville, SC 29550, or The Darlington County Humane Society, 580 Washington Avenue, Hartsville, SC 29550. Bob was born in Trenton, Michigan, on October 11, 1948, the son of Earl Edmond Anderson "Bud" and Mary Theresa Schrettner "Mitzi". He grew up in Wyandotte, MI, and relocated with his family and the family business (ABCO) to Hartsville, SC, in 1982 -- a town he loved deeply and championed with pride. Bob's journey on this earth was marked by hard work, grit, and a strong belief in betting on yourself. He was a pillar of strength for his family, but also as the steadfast leader, president, and CEO of Anderson Brass Company – a century-old, multi-generational valve manufacturing company. He dedicated his career to carrying on a legacy built with determination, integrity, and a profound vision. Under his leadership, the company flourished, serving as a testament to craftsmanship and community tradition. He took great pride and satisfaction not only in the success of the business, but also in the wonderful people who worked there, whom he came to regard as family. His dedication to a "Buy American" approach to manufacturing will be one of the many lasting impacts for which he is remembered. Bob's greatest joys in life were deep-sea fishing in the Keys, parties with his Second Thursday friends, playing poker with his loved ones, and watching his grandchildren grow and play (anything). He was most happy tinkering with old cars (particularly his Barracudas), watching Nascar, and shagging with his beloved wife. He loved cooking for his family and friends with an unmatched passion for the perfect dish. He was our storyteller, the life of the party, and fully appreciated a lively dance floor. His laughter, his legendary tales and jokes, and his unwavering love for those around him will be remembered and cherished forever. He frequently declared, "Let the Good Times Roll!" He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandra Laurel "Sandi" Anderson, and their two daughters, Ashley Anderson McMillin (Andy) and Brooke Anderson Williams (Clay). He was the beloved "Papa" of his five grandchildren, Jack Everett McMillin (13), Charles David McMillin "Charlie" (11), Anderson Elle Williams "Andie" (10), Molly York McMillin (9), and Clifton Lide Williams IV "Conrad" (7). He is also survived by his sister, Cynthia Anderson Vaccarelli (John), and niece, Carrie Kristin Vaccarelli. He was preceded in death by his parents and is now reunited with his son, Robert Charles "Robbie" Anderson III, in heaven. Our heartfelt thanks to Lucas Angels for their unwavering support and assistance during the last stage of his life. We will remember Bob with much love and laughter for the good life he lived while he was strong. "Grief is the price we pay for love… a million times over"
