It is with deep sorrow that the Johnson family announces the death of their beloved father, Mr. Perry Lamont Johnson, 67. Mr. Johnson entered into rest on Friday, September 19, 2025. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A visitation to honor his life will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born on Tuesday, November 12, 1957, in Hartsville, SC. He is the son of Joyce Warren Kelley and the late Larry Levin Johnson. He was a devoted family man and friend to many. He passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service to others. His life was defined by his generous spirit and unwavering dedication to helping those around him. Whether lending a hand in times of need, offering encouragement, or simply being a steady presence, he had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and cared for. His compassion and selflessness touched countless lives, leaving an impact that will carry on for generations. Above all, Perry’s greatest joy was his family. He loved his children dearly and was immensely proud of them. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought light to his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. To them, he was more than a father and grandfather—he was a source of wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love. Beyond his devotion to family and friends, Perry found peace in the simple joys of life. He was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand, spending quiet days by the water. At home, he poured his care into tending to his fish, a hobby that reflected his patient, nurturing nature. Hard work was also at the heart of who he was—Perry gave his best to every task, big or small, with pride and dedication. Those who knew him will remember his kind heart, steady laughter, and the way he always put others before himself. His life was a true example of what it means to give without expectation and to love without limits. Mr. Johnson is survived by his son, Shawn Brentwood Johnson (Myshell) of Hartsville, SC; daughters, Casey McInville (Chad) of Hartsville, SC, Crystal Jones Keith (Curtis) of Lugoff, SC, Brandi Jones Teal (Barry) of Chesterfield, SC, Heather Jones of Camden, SC; sisters, Debbie Johnson (Danny) of Hartsville, SC, Dana Malphus (Jimmy) of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Campbell (Dylan), Haylee Barfield (Dylan), Daniel Evans, Jax Teal, Brent Johnson (Reagan), Mychael Turner (Colby) Piper Johnson; great-grandchildren, Larken Barfield, Langlee Barfield, Remi Jane Turner, Charlie Turner, Wrenlee Campbell, Kash Hodges, Beckham Campbell. Perry Lamont Johnson’s memory will live on in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, in the hearts of those he loved, and in the lasting legacy of kindness he leaves behind. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Trilise Kelly of McBee, SC.
