Mrs. Kathryn M. Wallace`

Mrs. Kathryn M. Wallace, 84, of Hartsville, South Carolina, peacefully entered eternal rest on March 16, 2025, at Morrell Nursing Center, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 4, 1941, in Fair Play, South Carolina, Kathryn was the beloved daughter of the late Verner Lee Wilson and Mary Sosby Wilson. She spent her early years and much of her adult life in Georgia before making Hartsville her home, where she embraced her roles as a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Kathryn built a career at Hartsville Manufacturing Company and later worked at 5th Street Cleaners and Busy B’s. However, her greatest joy was found in caring for her family. Whether through cooking, sewing, painting, or coloring, she poured love and creativity into everything she did, always cherishing time spent with her loved ones. Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merlin Rayford Wallace; her son, Rayford Scott Wallace; son-in-law, Billy Ray McInville; and siblings Verner Wilson, Jr., Joe Wilson, John Wilson, and Charles Wilson, as well as Martha Owens, Lavern Prickett, Virginia Kesler, and Sara Babson. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Bobby (Melissa) Wallace, Tracy (James) Redfearn, Kim McInville, Kelly (Henry) Moree, and Keith Eric “Skeet” Wallace. She is also survived by her cherished siblings, Wayne (Sharon) Wilson and Patsy Macomson. Known affectionately as “Mema”, Kathryn was a proud and loving grandmother to Cody Wallace, Laken (Jason) Fields, Katelyn (Roddy) Byrd, Joanie (Hunter) McCutchen, Justin (Aimee) McInville, Brandon (Mallory) McInville, Hunter Moree, and Henly Moree. Her love and guidance will continue to be felt by her many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members, who will forever hold her memory close. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Child and Family Resource Foundation in Hartsville, South Carolina. Correspondence and gifts of sympathy will be received at the home of Tracy (James) Redfearn, 712 Prestwood Drive, Hartsville, SC 29550.
