It is with deep sorrow that Mr. and Mrs. Larry and O'Neal Cassidy announce the death of their beloved daughter, Jennifer O'Neal Cassidy, 49. Ms. Cassidy entered into rest on Thursday, November 10, 2022. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11 o'clock on Monday, November 14, 2022, in The Chapel of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home, 306 W. Home Avenue, Hartsville, SC. The Rev. Billy Bishop and The Rev. John O'Cain will officiate with burial to follow in Darlington Memory Gardens, 2071 E. Bobo Newsome Hwy., Hartsville, SC. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Jennifer was born in Florence County, SC, the daughter of Larry Dean Cassidy and O'Neal Casper Cassidy. She always loved life, the outdoors, and people, and brought so much joy and laughter as the first baby girl to Larry and O'Neal. She grew up at Swift Creek Baptist Church and was very involved in GA's and Acteens. She loved being involved in the church musicals, softball, and going to camp every year. She spent many years at her grandparents in Edenton on the Albemarle Sound. She loved her PaPa and MaMa so very much. She spent hours fishing, skiing, and singing on their back porch. Jennifer spent most of her school years at Pate Elementary, but for high school, she attended Emmanuel Baptist School. She enjoyed playing volleyball and loved being on the basketball court. She graduated a year early and went to Baptist College as her Mom did and her younger sister followed in those footsteps as it became Charleston Southern University. She loved her job doing phlebotomy for McLeod Hospital, Pee Dee Cardiology, and both Dr. Siti's in Florence, SC. She stepped in many times when family members needed bloodwork or had trouble with bad veins. She also loved her time at BlueCross BlueShield in Columbia, SC. Her family, as well as her neighbors at Woods Edge, have loved and enjoyed her talents and creativity for years. She loved anything arts and crafts and could turn anything into something. She decorated the halls and any flat surface she could find. Jennifer cared for many of the residents in her building and was their go-to person if anything was needed. She will be missed not only by her family, friends, and coworkers but by her service dog, Penelope as well. Penelope was with her for only a short time, as it took some time for her to grieve for Kai, who took care of her for many years. She is survived by her loving parents, Larry Dean Cassidy and O'Neal Casper Cassidy of Lynchburg, SC; sisters, Lori Cassidy Reed of Lynchburg, SC, Rebekah Leigh Cassidy of Lynchburg, SC; niece, Cassidy Renee Reed. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harry and Reba Cassidy; maternal grandparents, Elton and Penelope Casper.
