Mrs. Elaine Belk Morris

Private graveside funeral services for Mrs. Martha Elaine Belk Morris, 90, who entered into rest on Sunday, April 5, 2020, will be held in Magnolia Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Gregory B. Boyd will officiate and Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is caring for the family. Mrs. Morris was born on March 7th, 1930, in Marshville, N.C. She was the daughter of Miller Belk and Maude Belk. She graduated from Marshville High School Class of 1947. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Hartsville, SC. Her Uncle, James B. Little, was a Minister at Emmanuel Baptist along with his wife, Cynthia Ella Little, who raised and brought her up in the Baptist faith. She graduated from Coker College with a major in business and minor in music. She loved music; she played the piano as well as the organ in church for 30 years. She loved working in her yards and in her rose garden that her husband planted for her. She loved antiques, reading, gardening, sewing, baking, and animals. She is survived by two daughters, Tamara Elaine Morris of Columbia, SC and Cynthia Morris Horne of Hartsville, SC; sister-in-law, Annelle Davis. She had a special love for her furry companion Brody, who stayed by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, William Cleveland Morris, "WC", who was the love of her life; brothers Gene Belk and Bobby Belk; sister-in-law Shirley Vincent; brother-in-law Chester Morris, sister-in-law Juel Morris; and son-in-law George Horne. The family would like to thank Dr. James T. Bell for his enduring love and compassion for the Morris family. AGAPE Hospice, Dan Garrison, her caregiver DeAnne Elrod Corley, Pastor Greg Boyd, of Hartsville First Baptist Church along with their amazing staff, Sue Belk and family, William Brown, Mike Anderson, Francis Kelley, Mary Lathan Steele and all the many friends that called on her during her illness. She had a special place in her heart for her Hartsville friends and community.
