Mrs. Donna Lou Taylor

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Donna L. Taylor announces the death of their beloved mother/grandmother at age 96. Mrs. Taylor entered into rest on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 1 o'clock on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Morton Presbyterian Church, 1068 Morton Drive, Hartsville, SC, with The Rev. Dr. John Parks officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The family suggests Mitchell's Florist of Hartsville, SC, for floral arrangements, and those wishing to make memorial donations may do so in her honor to CenterWell Home Health, 515 Market Street, Cheraw, SC 29520. Born in Neosho, Missouri, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Leona Hauk Adams. She was a devoted member of Morton Presbyterian Church since moving to Hartsville, SC, in 1989 from Petaluma, California, upon retirement. Fondly known by the community as Ms. Donna or Grandma Donna, she could be found volunteering much of her time with the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, or Habitat for Humanity. She loved Red Sox Baseball, the Game Show Network, Lawrence Welk, and streaming live services of Florence Baptist Temple and Thrive Community Church. She was a generous woman with a strong faith and an unwavering love for the Lord. Grandma Donna's favorite saying was, "Remember, God loves you, and so do I." Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Fischer, and her brother, Buster Schouten of Hurst, TX. She is survived by sons, Donald Sharp of Hartsville, SC, Russell Taylor of Hartsville, SC, William Taylor of Port Orange, FL; daughter, Linda Sue Burriss of Hartsville, SC; stepsons, Douglas Fischer of Wilmington, NC, David Fischer of Pasadena, MD; stepdaughter, Barbara Millett of Bethesda, MD; grandchildren, Tracy Mandigo, Misti Walker, Madisin Taylor, Logan Taylor, Shaina Taylor, Scott Taylor, Adrienne Olsen, Teddy Draper, Matthew Fischer, and Melissa Fischer; great-grandchildren, Taylor Nicole, McKenzie, Faryn, Elizabeth, Phoenix, Amelia, Faith, Jacob, Hailey, Nora, Bradley, and Joshua.
