It is with deep sorrow that the we announce the death of Mrs. Betty Carolyn Hall Millsap, 88. Mrs. Millsap entered into rest on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022, in the Chapel of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Patrick Dye and the Rev. Tim Boan will officiate with burial to follow in the Clyde Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Born in Darlington County, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Hall. Carolyn was a member of the Hartsville Church of God for over 30 years where she served as a faithful pianist for many years. She retired from the ILG-AFL-CIO where she had been the District Representative for over 30 years and was elected the first female Secretary Treasurer in SC. She was a wonderful cook that enjoyed cooking for all. Her friends and family always enjoyed the meals prepared by "Ma Carolyn." She also enjoyed shopping and traveling with family and friends. She would often spend time reading or talking to friends and family on the phone. Her family was important to her and she loved to take care of her grandchildren and spend time with them. She loved her beloved husband, who cared for her and was by her side until the end. Surviving are her husband, James "Jim" Millsap; children, Nina Driggers (Jimmy) Debbie Hyman (Jack), Buster Smith (Faith), Patsy Hall (Clifford), Kim Walters; grandchildren, Todd Driggers (Amy), Tad Driggers (Michelle), Jeremy Driggers (Danielle), Jay Hyman (Crystal), Brantley Hyman, Shannon Smith, Candy Kirshy (Michael), Miranda Smith, Felicia Atkinson, Josh Hall, Kiralyn Walters, Garris Walters; daughter-in-law, Loretta "Puggie" Smith; granddaugher-in-law, Crystal Smith; brother, Charles Hall (Lynn); sister-in-law, Margie Hall; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tony Smith; grandson, Mason Smith; brothers, Donald Hall, Roger Hall, Gordon Hall, Gerald Hall; sisters, Agnus Boan, Peggy Sellers, Sam Felkel, Annette Burkett, Barbara Ann Hall; great-granddaughter, Kayden Walters; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Smith.
