It is with deep sorrow that the McDonald family announces the death of their beloved mother, Mrs. Belva Jean Jordan McDonald, 87. Mrs. McDonald, the widow of Kenneth William "Pete" McDonald Sr., entered into rest on Sunday, December 17, 2023. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11 o'clock on Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Victory Baptist Church, 633 W. Smith Avenue, Darlington, SC. The Rev. Frank Camp will officiate with the assistance of The Rev. Dillon Spell and The Rev. Thomas Engle, with burial to follow in Darlington Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in her honor to Victory Baptist Church, 633 W. Smith Avenue, Darlington, SC 29532, or the charity of one's choice. Mrs. McDonald was born on September 2, 1936, in Darlington County, SC. She was the daughter of Jesse Keith Jordan and Hanna Mae Anderson Jordan. She was married to her loving husband, Pete, for 49 wonderful years and was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church in Darlington, SC, since 1987. She loved visiting people in nursing homes and families who were sick or homebound. She is survived by her loving son, Kenneth W. McDonald Jr. (Mary Beth); three grandsons, Kenneth W. "Kenny" McDonald III, Matthew Brian McDonald (Jordan), and Jacob Hilton Wint (Ashleigh); great-granddaughter, Charlotte Ann "Charlie" McDonald; brother, Harell A. Jordan (Betty Jo). In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Eric McDonald; sister, Jesna J. Meggs (Lynwood); brothers, Jesse F. Jordan Sr. (Ida), C. Ashston Jordan, James C. "Jimmy" Jordan (Rose), Jerry K. Jordan, Lynn Jordan; nephews, Kevin Jordan and Bruce Meggs; niece, Kathy Jordan. Serving as Pallbearers will be Kenneth W. "Kenny" McDonald III, Matthew Brian McDonald, Jacob Hilton Wint, Scott Jordan, Joe Miller, Dillon Spell, and Andy Jordan. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Harrell Jordan, Steve Meggs, Richie Gainey, and Joey Meggs. The family would like to thank the pastor at Victory Baptist Church, our neighbors, friends, and families, and everyone showing the family their love. Also, those who visited brought food and flowers or gave us a hug.
