Mrs. Barbara H. Elmore

It is with deep sorrow that Mr. Harry Leroy Elmore, Sr. announces the death of his beloved wife, Barbara H. Elmore, 81, of Bishopville, SC. Mrs. Elmore entered into rest on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. The Directors of Hancock- Elmore-Hill Funeral Home are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 2 o'clock on Friday, September 16, 2022, in Bethlehem United Methodist Church. The Rev. Denise Seymour, The Rev. Paul Atkinson, and The Rev. Tim Lee will officiate with burial to follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. A visitation celebrating her life will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Harry & Harry Too, 719 Sumter Highway, Bishopville, SC 29010. Memorials may be made in her honor to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 167, Bishopville, SC 29010, or Shared Hope, 202 N. Dennis Avenue, Bishopville, SC 29010. Barbara was born on December 7, 1940, to the late Robert C. Hearon and Sarah W. Hearon. She graduated from Bishopville High School. Upon graduation, she had many jobs, most notably her position with the Treasurer’s office, a sewing-alternation business (Aunt PittyPat’s, with her friend, Diane McElveen), and was church secretary at Bethlehem United Methodist Church until she became owner and operator of the infamous Harry and Harry Two. Barbara was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She married Harry Leroy Elmore, Sr. on July 1, 1976. In August of 1981, they welcomed Harry L. Elmore, Jr. to the family. She enjoyed working in her yard, decorating, shopping, restoring and collecting antiques, sitting on her porch watching her cows, geese, and goats, and complaining about the “ole mean” donkey. More importantly, she loved her family and her extended family at Harry’s. She had a generous heart, giving spirit, and enjoyed helping others. She is survived by her loving husband, Harry L. Elmore; sons, Gary Crainshaw (Kelly) of Arkansas, Harry (Shannon) Elmore of Bishopville; a beautiful daughter, Vicki Crainshaw, also of Bishopville; grandsons, Wes Crainshaw and Jeff Crainshaw both of Arkansas, Nick (Morgan) Johnson of Columbia; granddaughter, Rivers Elmore of Bishopville; great-granddaughters, Autumn and Harper. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her brother, Chesley Hearon; two very special cousins, Sarah C. Welch and Carolyn W. Clanton. The family would like to thank Dr. John Pate, Jill, Gwen, and Christy for their constant loving care and kindness and our very own personal hero and much beloved Dona Smith for coming to us every time we called, no matter the reason.
