Annie Ballard

Funeral services for Annie Mae Sullivan Ballard, 82, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Kelleytown Baptist Church. The Revs. Lynn Kirkman and Kevin Walters will officiate with entombment in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday, September 18, 2006 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Annie Mae Ballard departed from this world and entered into the glorious presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven on Saturday, September 16, 2006. Born in Kershaw County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Harriett Horton Sullivan. She was dedicated Christian lady and demonstrated tremendous faith in her Lord. She was a faithful and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family dearly and received tremendous pleasure from having all of her family present for special occasions. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was educated through the public school system. She retired from Belk Department Stores where she was well known for her helpfulness and dedication to countless families shopping in the Boy’s Department. Annie Mae was an active member of Kelleytown Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the Ruth Kelley Sunday School Class and a dedicated member of the Church Library committee. She is survived by her husband of sixty three years, Milas H. Ballard, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Milas H. (Peggy) Ballard, Jr. of Bel Air, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn (Travis) Walters of Hartsville, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Odell (Betty Ann) Sullivan of Kershaw, SC, Richard (Christine) Sullivan of Gosport, England; sisters and brothers-in-law, Zulene (Harold) Williams of Lancaster, SC, Eunice (Melvin) Mangum of Bethune, SC, Shirley (Buck) Steen of Lugoff, SC; grandchildren and spouses, Rev. Kevin (Donna) Walters of Timmonsville, SC, Darryl (Kristie) Walters of North Charleston, SC, Michael Ballard of Bel Air, MD, Pam Hayes of Mechanicsville, VA, Jeff Hayes of Irvine, CA; great grandchildren, Ashley, Audra and Emaleigh Walters.
