Funeral services for Betty Gandy Kelly, 76, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Gum Branch Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeff Gardner will officiate with burial in the church cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday, February 8, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202, or the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Dr. Suite 311, Columbia, SC 29204.
Mrs. Kelly died Saturday, February 6, 2010. Born in Darlington Co., SC, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Hattie Mac King Gandy. She was employed with Wal-Mart for 22 years and worked at the first Wal-Mart when it opened in Hartsville. She was previously employed with Morrell's Nursing Home for 19 years.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph T. “Joe” (Donna S.) Kelly, Sr. of Hartsville, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda K. (John E.) Woodham of Hartsville, SC; sister and brother-in-law, Dianne G. (Paul) Brown of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Chris Finch, Lori Hudson, Ruby Jones, Joseph T. Kelly, Jr., Ambre Kelly, Jessica Rush, Sarah K. Hall; 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Franklin Eugene “Frankie” Kelly.
